Scrupe's projects engage a broad exploration of human commitments to land and
community, and the ways that profound knowledge and love of familiar places can
impact efforts toward preservation of endangered lands, particularly in rural l America.
In past projects designed for exhibition in museums and publicspaces,
Scrupe has engaged interdisciplinary research strategies to explore plant
science and biodiversity, seed saving and preservation of native plant species.
These projects have been expressed in forms such as site installation,
performance intervention, multimedia digital photography and video projections,
traditional drawing, and the handmade book.

information about books,
periodicals, and articles from various disciplines including the visual arts, landscape
architecture, agriculture, philosophy, and human and natural ecology.
